BASF, Ludwigshafen, Germany, has received authorization to market its LycoVit lycopene formulations in the EU from the European Commission’s Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health. LycoVit is nature-identical lycopene specially manufactured for addition to foodstuffs. The nutritional ingredient is intended for use in fruit juices and sports drinks, spread fats, bread and various diet foods and food supplements.
